Marcus Adoro Asserts Innocence Amid Allegations of Personal Misconduct

Marcus Adoro, lead guitarist of the legendary band Eraserheads, is currently facing serious allegations concerning improper personal conduct. However, the musician maintains his innocence and is actively working through legal channels to clear his name.

Allegations Made by an Anonymous Accuser

On March 30, 2025, a Reddit user came forward accusing Marcus Adoro of misconduct that allegedly occurred when she was still in high school. She shared that despite her efforts to move on from the painful memories, seeing Marcus’s image everywhere on social media due to the Eraserheads reunion is distressing.

She stated:
“Marcus Adoro behaved improperly toward me when I was in high school. Now I have to see his face all over social media because of the Eraserheads reunion. I can’t bear it anymore.”

The accuser also claims she is not the only one affected and that several others have experienced similar improper treatment from Marcus. Some allegations also reference past incidents involving indie actress Barbara Ruaro — Marcus’s former girlfriend who publicly reported mistreatment in 2019 — as well as claims of emotional harm involving Marcus’s own daughter, Syd Hartha.

Response from Eraserheads and Involved Parties

Following the spread of these allegations, Eraserheads’ frontman Ely Buendia announced that Marcus would temporarily step away from the band’s activities while the matter is being reviewed. The statement issued on April 6, 2025, clarified that Marcus would not participate in upcoming concerts or projects until further notice.

However, on May 31, many netizens were surprised when the organizers of the Electric Fun Music Festival announced that Marcus Adoro would perform with Eraserheads at the event scheduled for October 18, 2025.

In their official statement, the organizers said they had been repeatedly assured by Marcus that the allegations are “unfounded and false,” and that he is “actively pursuing appropriate legal channels to address the matter.”

The organizers declared:
“We do not condone any form of misconduct. At the same time, we reject the culture of social media trials. Allegations must be handled through proper legal procedures, with fairness and transparency.”

They also assured that Marcus’s participation in the festival would not interfere with ongoing legal processes, reaffirming their commitment to justice and the music community.

No Official Statement Yet from Marcus or Eraserheads

As of this article’s publication, Marcus Adoro has not issued a direct statement, nor has Eraserheads officially commented on his return to the band for the October event.

The issue remains controversial and divisive among fans, especially given Marcus Adoro’s significant influence in the Philippine music scene.
